There are some samples of satellite imagery draped on VRML surfaces
at http://www.mtop.com.

The imagery was 30 meter landsat for the samples we have on our
page.  We have built models using the DOQ's before as well.  We
actually colorized a b+w DOQ of the Grand Canyon and built a model
with the colorized DOQ for texture.
