Hi,

Digital orthophotos can be considered to be georeferenced images.
Georeferencing meaning here usually that we know the geocoordinates
of the origin (top-left corner) and pixel size.

In my understanding Digital Orthophoto Quadrangles is the US term for
the nationwide orthophoto coverage.

In the context of VRML the interesting question is how to drape
digital orthophotos on digital elavation models. This is actually
a part of a larger problem area on how to map image-based textures
on any "VRML-surface", image meaning here a digital or scanned
photograph or satellite image.

I must admit not being an expert in VRML yet. For me the question
is: does VRML have sufficient tools for these tasks?.
