Topographic output.

A quick question or two.

I have some topographic data which has been worked on using Excel. I am now wanting to use this data as a way of testing various nodes within VRML eg ElevationGrid, IndexFaceSet, etc. There are around 3000 data points i don't want to have to type all this in again otherwise i will probably lose the will to live. Can Excel data; or any other spreadsheet data be pulled into VRML  i beleive the normal method is: URL "Foo.* or in this case would be Foo.xls.

Secondly, Can anyone propose a way of contouring this type of data. Having looked at the spec it is not clear, it could/might mean repeating whole datasets a couple of times to get the desired output, which is IMHO a bit wasteful.
