Elevation Grid

Thanks for the full spec on the elevation grid, i think that will take some digesting. I don't know what the full capabilities of the elevation grid are, but what i'd like, is to be able to produce smooth contoured surfaces as opposed to " blocky " surfaces. The LOD could play apart in this. Also ( from an educational point of view ) we need to address the different cartographic co-ordinate systems employed by different countries. The US maps are certainly different from the British Ordanance Survey. There are other things that i'd like to get rolling but i think that's enough for the present.
